The Stylist wedding blog: my pick of the top 10 alternative wedding photographers

logo

In the blog last week, I spoke about the importance of good wedding photography and how bad pictures can (and should!) be a bride's biggest worry.

Quite a few people have recently asked me how I found my photographer and the truth is that I found him through trawling endless blogs and simply googling ‘alternative wedding photography’. I also found it useful to follow wedding blog accounts on Instagram, which frequently post lovely shoots with a link to the photographer.

I was probably turned down by about 20 photographers for all the various dates we had as they just get booked up so quickly – I would advise having a hit list of between five and 10 that you like, block email them all and see who comes back.

The key is to remember not to judge the photos on the style of the wedding, but instead on the quality of the photography and the framing of the shots.

Here’s a list of the top 10 alternative wedding photographers that I came across in my search and loved.
