Words: Elle Griffiths

If you’re having trouble waiting ‘til summer for the return of Game of Thrones, this new trailer might help sate your curiosity for now.

Whetting fans’ appetite with a minute and a half long clip, HBO’s preview featured Sit down by Brit band James.

But the song was a more sinister, slowed down version of the 90s hit and scores the opening minute before being replaced by an eerie silence accompanied by close ups of several characters’ eyes.

The brief snippet of Westeros shows trio Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) vying for the crown as the series enters what is believed to be its penultimate season.

Titled Long Walk, the promo ends with Cersei taking a deep breath on the throne, and then flashes to the Night King, the leader of the white walkers, at the end of the video.

It looks as though Cersei, Jon and Daenerys must try to put aside their differences to tackle the greater problem of the White Walker threat which bolsters earlier spoilers leaked from filming.
