When Stylist columnist Lucy Mangan wrote about the Girl Guides in this week's magazine, it provoked a spirited reaction from the Guiding community. Many of us have at one time been a Guide or a Brownie, so we decided to celebrate the positive aspects of being a Guide on twitter - and were inundated with heartfelt, nostalgic and inspiring stories, from memories of campfires and emptying the Portaloo (!) to the friendships made and confidence gained from time in a pack. Here are some of the stories you shared with us - get involved by tweeting us @StylistMagazine with the hashtag #beingaguide.
