Enter our first Big Bake-Off

Big Bake Off logos.jpg

Are you baking obsessed? When you’re not making notes from re-runs of The Great British Bake-Off, are you in the kitchen, armed with an apron and a rolling pin, whipping up an edible masterpiece? Think you’ve got enough cake-baking skills to outdo the great Mary Berry herself? Then we’ve got the ultimate foodie challenge for you.

As we’re equally mad about all things iced at Stylist, we’ve decided to launch our first Big Bake-Off, which gives you the opportunity to showcase your most photogenic baking efforts - with the chance to win a fabulous four-day trip to Japan to boot.

How it works

It's simple to enter. Simply create the most beautiful baked product you can, and then send a snap of it to bakeoff@stylist.co.uk, along with your name and telephone number. Alternatively, tweet your picture to @StylistMagazine, making sure you include the hashtag #bigbakeoff.

You could bake anything from a classic Victoria Sponge to a cupcake, cookie or even a cake pop - it just needs to make our mouths water from the photo (as, sadly, we'll be unable to conduct taste tests!). We'll put all of the entries online, and then ask the baking enthusiasts on our editorial team (and, believe us, there are many) to select their favourite 20 entries. These will star in a separate gallery, and we'll ask you to vote for your overall winner.

The closing date for receiving entries is Friday 18th November at 5pm, and you can enter as many times as you like, so get baking! Need some inspiration? See all the amazing entries so far here.

The prize

Thanks to a wave of recent openings, Japan has taken Paris’ place as the world’s baking hotspot, with more patisseries there than anywhere else in the world. So we’re sending our first Big Bake Off winner to sample their wares. Flying courtesy of Virgin Atlantic, the winner will enjoy four nights at The Peninsula Tokyo (pictured above and below). A three-minute walk from the shopping capital of Ginza, this luxurious, contemporary hotel features an ESPA spa and an outdoor terrace with views of the Imperial Palace Gardens, and has five unique restaurants, including the Michelin starred Hei Fung Terrace.

To make the most out of your trip to Japan, visit the Japan National Tourism Organisation website at seejapan.co.uk.
