“It's time to call her bros.” Bride’s wedding shoot with male bridesmaids goes viral

“When the bride doesn't have any girlfriends, it's time to call her bros.”

So said computer engineer Rebeca Abrantes, who decided that having no bridesmaids would not deter her from having a photo shoot of wedding day prep.

The 24-year-old bride-to-be gathered her five closest male friends and summoned photographer Fernando Duque to take the shots, parodying the usual ‘getting ready’ pictures with a whole album of her best men giving some excellent face in matching pink satin dressing gowns.

Captioning the set with “This is what happens to a girl in Computer Engineering”, Brazilian Abrantes posted the images on Facebook, where they rapidly gathered more than 71,000 reactions and over 50,000 shares.

There are plenty of recognisable images, such as downing a few cheap drinks to get the party started:

And, of course, the emotional ‘The Dress’ moment...

Speaking to boredpanda.com, she said about a week before her May wedding she was looking through pictures of “brides with their gang of girls, all in robes, laughing, drinking champagne and all, and I got a bit sad because I wouldn’t be able to do anything like that”.
