Cancer survivor teaches married creep a powerful lesson about fidelity

When anonymous Imgur user Littlebs79 became engaged in a political debate with a man online, she thought that their conversation would end there.

However, a short while later, she says she received a private message on Facebook.

“Maybe we should go out some time?” he asked, completely out of the blue (she notes that their interactions had, up until this point, been entirely “innocuous”).

Littlebs79 attempted to ignore the question, but, when he sent her a single question mark at a later date, she decided to let him down gently.

“Had I not a husband,” she told him. “You do seem like a catch and I mean that with all sincerity.”

“Oh,” he responded disappointedly, “you’re married.”

“Yes,” she reports she replied politely, before thanking him for the compliment.

And that should have been the end of it. Man asks woman out, woman turns him down politely, everybody moves on with their lives. But, of course, this is the internet – so of course he took her friendly responses in completely the wrong way.

It wasn’t long before he was informing her that he, too, is married – and that he isn’t about to let a little thing like that get in the way of true lust. “We just won't tell,” he told her. “It will be fun lol.”

Again, Littlebs79 ignored him – and, for a short while, it seemed as if he got the message loud and clear.

But, when he sent her a crying emoji, the woman snapped – and decided to teach the guy a powerful lesson about love, fidelity and learning to take no for an answer.

Littlebs79 explained that she had been diagnosed with cancer the previous year and that it was her husband who had sat their children down and told them about her sickness, as she didn’t feel emotionally strong enough to do so herself.

“He subsequently took care of me during multiple surgeries, emptying drainage bags, giving me blood thinner shots, holding my hand while I was in pain and going to get chemo infusions,” she said.

“During this time, there was a song lyric [from Death Cab for a Cutie] that would loop in my head: ‘Love is watching someone die.’

“So my question to you is, who is going to watch you die?

“Get your house in order and please stop messaging me.”

The Imgur post – which was captioned ‘Don’t call down the thunder unless you’re ready for the boom’ – has since been viewed almost 400,000 times, racking up thousands of comments in just a few short days.

While most of these comments are in praise of Littlebs79’s badassery, there was one in particular that caught our eye.

“I am not seeing the important part here,” it reads. “Have you beat the cancer yet? Or still fighting? I hope you are well. And way to stand up for you!”

Littlebs79 has since replied: “Fought. Won. Genetic syndrome. On the watch list now.”

To echo the words of the original poster, this alpha female is “awesome”.
