Celebrating the cupcake


If you love a good cupcake as much as Stylist does (and apparently more than half of you prefer a cupcake to a steamy night in with the other half), you’ll be pleased to hear that we're officially in National Cupcake Week, and it's even taking over the TV schedules

Whoever came up with the idea to devote seven whole days to celebrating all things cupcake is a genius as far as we're concerned.

To celebrate this most glorious event, Food Network is saluting the sweet treat with a weekend of cupcake themed programming for the final weekend of Cupcake Week, which ends on 19th September.

Heading up the line-up is the brand new Cupcake Wars – a competition that pits chocolate ganache cupcake against ice-cream cupcake, and every other flavour imaginable.

In each episode, four talented bakers will battle it out in three elimination challenges for a chance to be crowned the ultimate king or queen of cupcakes. Think Come Dine With Me for cupcakes.

Cupcake Wars will be shown throughout the weekend on the Food Network, starting at 8pm, Friday 17th September.
