The launch of DOGTV in America sees entertainment for dogs take a bizarre new twist.
Gone are the days when a squeaky toy and a tasty bone were enough to occupy dogs, now with the launch of DOGTV canines can get on-demand television programmes tailored specifically for them.
Aimed at dogs that stay at home alone all day while their owners are out at work, DOGTV programmes have been scientifically tailored for pooches, with the sound, colours and camera angles adjusted to make it more appealing, reports the Telegraph, while content includes other dogs being active on screen – from three Alsatians jumping into a swimming pool to dogs happily catching balls being thrown by humans – as well as other animals including birds, monkeys and zebras.
As kooky as the idea sounds, DOGTV has already had a successful rollout in California earlier this year, and the team hopes to continue its success across the pond with the launch of the new online channel. Well, it sure beats watching re-runs of Cash In The Attic.
