Disney stories re-imagined with tragic endings

Sensitive souls may want to look away now.

Your favourite childhood Disney movies have been re-imagined and the worlds of singing crabs, gorgeous princes and glass slippers have been replaced with a more cynical (some may say real) world view - resulting in heartbreaking moments for many of our favourite characters.

The Disney Unhappily Ever After images were created by Grumpy Punk Cat on Imgur and depict what life could have been like for Mulan, Ariel, Alice, Cinderella and more, if they lived in the real world.

Though the pictures are bleak, they do throw the spotlight on some serious real world issues. Tell us what you think.

Without further ado...

Dumbo at the hands of a cruel trainer

Mulan choking on smog in the far east

Pocahontas' reservation redeveloped into a casino

Tiana and her mother in racially divided New Orleans, in The Princess and the Frog

Cinderella imagines what could have been if her fairy godmother had turned up like she was supposed to

Esmeralda on the streets of Paris in The Hunchback of Notre-Dame

A different spin on Alice in Wonderland

Ariel caught in an oil slick, instead of singing with Sebastian, in The Little Mermaid
