It's not only us humans who indulge in a frenzy of dressing-up excitement come Halloween - dogs are at it too.

Prepare yourself for unutterable cuteness as you take a look at these guide dog puppies taking part in a Halloween photo shoot in Melbourne...

And it's not only guide puppies who're at it with the Halloween costume theme.

Last October, a slew of well-clawed canines head to the Bully Boo! Dog Walk in California to battle it out in a Halloween costume contest.

Dogs of all breeds gathered at the event to flaunt their show-stopping outfits. Though the competition was fierce, there was no doubt each pooch had put his best paw forward on the sartorial front, as you can see by the photos below.

The annual event raises funds for Fresno Bully Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer based sanctuary dedicated to rescuing bully breed dogs.

The trend for dressing up dogs has clearly crossed the pond - just take a look at this Wonder-puppy courtesy of our Publishing Manager and @McNultyPup.
