New details of this year’s Glastonbury line up have emerged, with country singer Dolly Parton confirmed to perform at Worthy Farm for the first time and Blondie revealing they have been booked for the festival.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music, organiser Emily Eavis announced that the ‘Jolene’ and ‘9 to 5’ singer will be appearing on Sunday 29th June, adding ‘It’s something we’ve been wanting to happen for a long time, and she finally said yes’.

Dolly Parton’s website posted a brief announcement, confirming the performance and saying more details on the ‘soon to be Glastonbury performance’ will be shared soon.

The singer, known for her engaging and conversation filled live performances, will no doubt prove a popular booking – and we can only imagine just how fabulous Dolly’s Glastonbury wardrobe will be.

Famous for her flamboyant dress sense, we are envisaging rhinestone encrusted wellies and a glitter coated pac a mac!

It is not known whether the confirmation of Blondie’s performance was meant to emerge so early, but speaking at last night’s NME awards singer Debbie Harry said they had been confirmed that day.

Other acts confirmed for this year’s festival are Arcade Fire, Lily Allen and Suzanne Vega.

The festival takes place from June 25th to June 29th.
