Downton Abbey series 3: first pics

Being staunch Downton Abbey fans we were overjoyed to see new on-set pictures of the cast and crew filming scenes for series 3 – particularly as it seems there will finally be Downton wedding!

ABOVE: Matthew Crawley and Joseph Molesley (Kevin Doyle), his butler and valet

Although photos show Matthew Crawley (aka actor Dan Stevens) heading to the church in a morning suit, it appears not to be he and Lady Mary getting married, but rather Lady Edith (actress Laura Carmichael) and family friend Sir Anthony Strallen (played by Robert Bathurst) tying the knot.

With the cast decked out in 20s attire, we can’t wait to see what the new decade holds for the Crawley family.
