The first ever First Dates baby is on the way

First Dates fans, it’s official; the show is about to celebrate its first birth.

Ibiba Mudada and Aarron Stewart immediately hit it off when they were paired up on the popular Channel 4 show – and the couple have now confirmed that they’re expecting their first child together.

After their dinner at St Paul’s Paternoster Chop House, Ibiba and Aarron decide to head off to a shisha bar together.

And passions, it seems, ran higher than expected.

Speaking to The Sunday Mirror, Ibiba explained: “I was trying to keep it cool but I fancied him so much. I loved his long eyelashes and really genuine smile.”

The 28-year-old added that things got serious very quickly, and that “everything was quite intense”.

When she found out that she was expecting, however, she didn't know how he'd take the news.

She explained: “When I found out I was pregnant I wasn't sure how he'd react. It was so soon.

“We were getting into bed and I said, 'There's a baby in my belly – what's going on?' but he seemed really happy.”

After being brought together on the show back in June, discovered that they live just two minutes apart in Bristol.

They also learned that they have a family connection: Ibiba’s mum and Aarron’s dad had worked for 10 years together as social workers.

Ibiba and Aarron, whose baby is due in April, both have children from previous relationships: she has a 10-year-old daughter named Chenai, and he has daughter Tia, nine, and son Latham, six.

And, as viewers will see in tonight’s episode, Aarron was initially reluctant about expanding his family, telling Ibiba that he didn’t want any more children.

However the 33 year old has since changed his mind, revealing: “It hit me when I went to the first scan how excited I was. I can’t wait to go back to the restaurant with our new baby and show Fred, the maître d’.”

He added: “I never expected to find love, let alone have a kid. It’s absolutely nuts – but I’m so happy.”

Aarron is now planning to move in with Ibiba – and the pair have even discussed marriage.

If they do decide to tie the knot, they wouldn’t be the first First Dates proposal – although they would be the first wedding.

As longtime fans of the show will no doubt be aware, Scott White famously popped the question to Victoria Wills during the Christmas special of the show last year.

Eight months later, however, they called off their engagement – and deleted one another from social media.

Ibida and Aarron’s first date will be aired tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm.
