Not everyone is a fitness fanatic; some of us simply cannot bear the idea of going to a gym for an hour and staring at a wall while we pound away on a treadmill listening to the same playlist on repeat. As as a result, we often dive head first into the sofa instead.

But sport really doesn't have to be like that - it can easily become the best part of your day or week if you discover the activity that fits with your lifestyle. For many, part of the battle is just knowing what the options are - and getting a chance to dip a toe in.

With that in mind, Stylist went on a mission to find something that could appeal to everyone. Seeking out five diverse sports, we headed into each class to see what really goes on in the studio - and asked the experts about the pros of each.

From the postural benefits of ballet, the mindfulness of yoga and the stress relief of boxing, to the brain stimulation of bouldering and the party vibe of spin, there's sure to be something here that works for you.
