Joined at the hip? Forever Friendship Tampons are the new BFF bracelets

tamponfriends.jpg

The ways of declaring your love for your BFF evolves with age. At eight years old it was all about DIY multi-coloured bracelets. During the teenage years you shared all your clothes and jewellery. And now in adulthood, the Friends Forever Tampon has arrived.

“The what?!” we hear you ask. Yes, it appears a company has created two applicators joined together by a string so that you can experience menstruation together. As the tag line puts it: “Let the friendship flow”

The novelty tampons are now being sold at pop-up boutiques across New York.

In an interview with The Cut, creator Kat Thek says the product “will bring you extremely close to your best friend for up to eight hours at a time”.

And what if you're close but not that close? “Then you’re probably not actually best friends,” says Thek. "Maybe take a road trip and try again next month.”

She says Friends Forever Maxi Pads are also on the way to make spending time with your bestie even easier, and tampons for larger friendship groups, bridal showers and corporate team-building events are available on request.

There you have it folks, the latest accessory to gift to your nearest and dearest.
