To get you in the mood for the weekend, why not try this week's Friday Night Cocktail, the very sophisticated and delicious Very Berry. This drink is lovely over ice, or serve hot as a contemporary alternative to mulled wine. The blackberry and vanilla notes in the Fetzer Cabernet Sauvignon are brought to the fore through the fresh blackberries and complemented by the rich berry flavours in Chambord.
Serves 1
Ingredients - all available from Ocado.com
* 125ml Fetzer Cabernet Sauvignon
* 25ml Chambord
* 5 blackberries
* 25ml lemon juice
* 1 tsp caster sugar
* 1 sprig of fresh mint
Method
Crush three blackberries in a glass or bowl with the sugar. Add the wine, Chambord and lemon juice. Strain into a fresh glass filled with cubed ice. Garnish with mint and two extra blackberries to garnish.
If you want to try this cocktail hot, top up the glass with boiling water instead of ice, and swap the mint for half a slice of lemon studded with three cloves.
