Game of Thrones meets Downton Abbey as stars hang out together at Wimbledon

Hasn't it been a brilliant week for weird and unlikely circumstances? Who would have imagined the Queen casting her eyes over Game of Thrones' Iron Throne?

And now the stars of Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones are hanging out with each other at Wimbledon.

British actress Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, took a group selfie with Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Lily James and Allen Leech who make up the Crawley family in Downton Abbey.

Christie then coined a hashtag to summarise the unlikely moment: "#GameOfDowntonWimbledonThrones2014".

Dockery also shared a photo of herself with Christie on Instagram, writing "Me and the lovely #GwendolineChristie today at @Wimbledon #pimmso'clock @BazaarUk @RalphLauren #GameofDownton".

Check out the moment the cast from the two hit television dramas at Wimbledon below.
