Gilmore Girls fans, here’s where you can buy the Rory Gilmore wedding dress

Forget Black Friday; the 25 November marks a very important date in the calendars of Gilmore Girls fans everywhere, as it’s the day Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Biedel) finally return to our lives via the magic of Netflix.

While we have yet to see the four hugely-anticipated episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life (don’t worry, that’s our entire weekend plans), we couldn’t be more excited about it.

As such, we’re lapping up any and all Gilmore Girls titbits we can find on the internet - so long as they don’t contain any pesky spoilers – and, while we were incessantly googling, we stumbled across this little titbit.

That’s right; there is such a thing as a Rory Gilmore wedding dress.

Created by Floravere, the strapless gown combines floral embroidery and an oh-so-subtle blush shade – and has been designed to pay homage to Star Hollows’ most free-spirited inhabitant.

Speaking about the design on their website, Floravere writes: “The R.Gilmore honours the woman who embraces tradition, but adds her own personality and verve to it, who is beautiful and smart, witty and kind, independent and deeply rooted.”

We can just imagine Lorelai saying something along the lines of: “If you’re gonna throw your life away, it better be in this dress”

However, while there’s no denying that the gown is beautiful, we can’t help but think that some Gilmore Girls fans are missing the crucial point of the show.

Namely, that it’s a feminist drama about a mother and daughter’s relationship – not about them finding The One.

Speaking about the issue, the show’s creator Amy Sherman-Palladino told TIME magazine:“It’s a small part of who Rory is. Rory didn’t spend her days thinking, ‘Who am I going to end up with?’ Rory was much more concerned about ‘How do I get that interview at the New York Times?’”

Sherman-Palladino added: “I don’t see people debating ‘What newspaper is Rory’s working for?’ ‘Did she win a Pulitzer yet?’

“It’s all about Dean and Jess [her ex boyfriends]. Dean was 16 years old when they dated. Everybody should go back and think about their boyfriend at 16 and then re-evaluate whether that should be the focus of the conversation.”

Hear hear.
