Gossip Girl star Sam Page has welcomed his first child with his wife Cassidy Boesch, a baby boy named Logan.

The 39-year-old actor took to Instagram to share a snap of the tot adorably cuddling up to the family's golden retriever.

He captioned the image, "The newest, best and brightest part of my life hanging out with the chillest and hairiest part.

"These two are going to learn a lot from each other. Welcome to the world, my son Logan."

The Instagram post delighted his fans, garnering 380 likes and a series of congratulatory comments.

The actor, who is notoriously private, is yet to share the inspiration behind the baby's name, although Logan was the moniker given to Wolverine from the hit comic and film series X-Men.

Page and Cassidy married in November 2014 in a Californian villa, with the actor once again commemorating the moment on Instagram (see below).

Making it official.
