Crack open the (virtual) Champagne: eyeroll, middle finger and unicorn emojis have finally landed

ios9.jpg

Apple has answered your unicorn-related prayers with its latest update, bringing 184 new emoji to the online messaging table.

No longer will you endure hotdog-shaped gaps in your missives and scrabble round for something looking remotely like cheese; the iOS 9.1 update includes such useful symbols as sick face, Champagne bottle, thinking face, shopping bags and skier.

The middle finger and eyeroll emoji are likely to be well used, while rather more, well, specific needs are addressed with the new weightlifter, upside-down face and levitating man in a business suit.

There are also new religious buildings, including a mosque and a synagogue, and plenty of other bits and pieces moving us ever closer to communicating entirely in tiny pictures.

And of course, we can't imagine any conversation that wouldn't be improved by the addition of a sparkly, multi-coloured unicorn.

Website Emojipedia has the full list of emojis here and an overview of the latest additions by category here.

The new set can be added to your phone or iPad via the usual Apple update (Settings > General > Software Update) or through iTunes on a computer.
