Start prepping your C.V. people – a gin distillery is hiring and it sounds like the dream gin job.

The City of Manchester Distillery, home to the new, premium Manchester Three Rivers Gin, is Manchester city centre’s first dedicated Gin distillery in modern times.

Aside from brewing their own brand of the good stuff, the Distillery also provides visitors with the chance to learn how the small-batch spirit is made in addition to giving them the chance to make a version of their very own.

And that is where you come in.

The company took to Twitter last week to advertise an exciting opportunity to join the small team as a Gin Experience Host/Distillary Assistant, whose role will be to lead the tours and classes, in addition to helping out in the distillery itself.

The successful applicant will be working alongside master distiller Dave Rigby, who set out to create a drink that was “as well rounded and distinct as the city itself. But more than that, to create a space, a place where people could come and share in his passion for processes, industry and a damn fine Martini!”

A slight upgrade from the standard 9-5, no?

But while it may sound all fun and games, only those with a serious passion for the botanical beverage and an even stronger work ethic need apply.

As a small establishment, the Distillery is working hard to keep up with keep up with the competition.

Just another day in the office

“Whoever comes in to join us will find out that we give everything we have on a daily basis,' Rigby told Prima.

“Something you have to do when trying to compete with established industry giants.”

You’ll be putting in long hours and will be expected to get your hands dirty, but there’ll certainly be a welcome reward at the end of a gruelling day.

“There will be elbow grease and polish; there will be long days and nights we make no bones about it,” Rigby adds.

“But this is a chance to be part of something unique and something we believe is pretty special. And there will be gin. Lots of gin!”

Where do we apply?

Applicants should send their CV and a covering email to cv@manchesterthreerivers.com.
