sfjalfkjakl! Apologies, we're so excited, we can't type properly. That's because it's been announced that Marion Cotillard, AKA one of the most beautiful and talented actresses ever, is set to play Lady Macbeth.

As part of a new screen adaptation of the Shakespeare play, in which Michael Fassbender will take on the titular role, Cotillard will be replacing Natalie Portman, who was originally tied to the production.

Director Justin Kurzel, who won accolades for his 2011 film Snowtown, a crime horror film which depicted the true story of a series of murders in the titular South Australian town in the 1990s, is also on board.

Finally, See-Saw, the same company that was behind The King's Speech is producing the movie, who Fassbender worked with on the film Shame.

Filming will begin in the UK in January 2014, with StudioCanal financing the majority of the picture along with Film4.
