Meet the musical cats - and we're not talking Andrew Lloyd Webber.

These super-cool felines are the subject of a new calendar titled Musical Moggs.

It features real-life cats indulging their talents on a range of instruments. Two kitties rock out on their guitars, while another gets some drumming action in and yet more try out the violin and sax.

The images are the work of company Maverick Arts, whose producers combined actual cats with computer trickery.

Spokesman Steve Bicknell said, "The cats were actually two pets belonging to my friend. We are very experienced shooting with cats and they are usually handled by their owners, so we make sure they are not over worked at all. I think the whole shoot took less than two hours including breaks."
