Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, which follows the story of two women rebuilding their lives after they discover that their husbands are in love with each other, is an incredible tale of female OAP badassery.

And, just when we thought the show couldn’t get any better, it’s been announced that Lisa Kudrow is joining the star-spangled cast for its fourth series.

Better still? Her appearance means that die-hard Friends fans everywhere will finally get that mini-reunion they’ve all been hoping for.

That’s right: Marta Kauffman is the wordsmith behind Grace and Frankie – and the legendary screenwriter was also the creator of Friends, too.

But what story-lines does she have in store for her very own Phoebe Buffay?

Well, Kudrow will feature as flashy manicurist Sheree, a long-time friend of Grace (Jane Fonda). However, despite being plenty of fun, it’s not long before Sheree drives a wedge between Grace and her zany companion Frankie (Lily Tomlin).

Since her role as Smelly Cat queen Phoebe, Kudrow has stayed loyal to the world of comedy.

Friends cast

Kudrow played adulterous school counsellor in Easy A, the rollercoaster-addicted mum to Kimmy in Tina Fey’s The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and has starred in her own comedy series, Web Therapy.

Yet, in spite of her reunion with Kauffman in the comedy, the actress has said that a Friends reunion isn’t going to happen.

“It's been 13 years, 13 years of the same question and right now, or in the future, it's not going to happen. And I every time I say that, I get yelled at!” she said to Heat Magazine.

“What's it going to be about? Really, how is it going to work? This is what everybody is forgetting,” she added.

“They no longer hang at the coffee house, they have all moved away... The setting, and that time of life, worked brilliantly for then.”

Season three of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie premiered on 24 March, and the show will return for season four in 2018.
