Can't stand PDA? Look again. Photographer captures the beauty of public romance

Even if you find public displays of affection irritating, you have to admire these snaps by Mikael Theimer. The street photographer wandered the streets of Paris and Montreal to find beautiful moments of “lovebirds caught right in the act.”

The ongoing project, called Street Love, uses black and white imagery to capture real-life emotion. All the images were candid shots taken without the subjects’ knowledge.

"I just like seeing people in love, I find that beautiful and pure," he told The Huffington Post

Whether it’s a couple kissing goodbye on a Metro platform or sharing an intensely intimate moment on a bus ride, the photos are bound to melt even the coldest of hearts.

"For a moment, nothing around them matters. I like to focus on the good within the human race. The more you see of it, the more you want to be a part it."

Mikael Theimer’s favourite image is a couple on a park bench in Paris, taken a week after the 13 November terrorist attacks.

"It symbolizes the fact that Paris remains the city of love, even so soon after such terrible events," the photographer explained.
