Pop-up owl-themed cocktail bar to open in London

autumn animal owl twp

First came the cat cafes, now prepare yourself for the owl bars. If you think the idea sounds like a hoot, then you'll need to get yourself down to London from March 19-25, when Annie The Owl - a pop-up, owl-themed cocktail bar - will open its doors.

Tokyo owl cafe

Based on Tokyo's current vogue for owl cafes - pictured above - a mystery Soho venue will act as a temporary home to six feathered friends from Gloucestershire's Barn Owl Centre, including Annie, who's given her name to the fund-raising venture, as well as Darwin, Ruby and Cinders.

Tickets will be available by ballot, and cost £20, including two cocktails and the chance to meet the birds in two hour slots, which will take place from 8pm-2am - perfect for these nocturnal creatures.

Over 25,000 people have already applied for tickets and the official location will be revealed to ballot-winners on March 16. Click here to enter the ballot.

A professional falcon trainer will be on hand in the bar and animal-lovers will be happy to hear that the birds will be well looked after. They'll also be music and comedy, but we've got a feeling that's for our benefit rather than the owls'.
