Penélope Cruz to be the next Bond girl

Penelope Cruz Next Bond Girl.jpg

Not only can Penélope Cruz outshine a whole cast with her acting abilities (Vicki Cristina Barcelona, anyone?), is incredibly beautiful (we want her eyes), she's now set to star as the new Bond girl.

Following in the footsteps of her husband Javier Bardem, who played baddie Raoul Silva in last year's Skyfall, the Oscar-winning actress will feature in the 24th Bond film, which is to be directed once again by Sam Mendes.

The former Stylist cover star is rumoured to be shooting her scenes next year, with further speculation that the film will be released in late 2014 or 2015.

Cruz will also be the oldest Bond girl ever as she will turn 40 next year, beating Honor Blackman to that title who was 39 when she starred in Pussy Galore.
