I'm enamored with the sound of these happy-go-lucky merrymakers...

Some tracks just are summer. They span across genre and continent, spreading their jovial noise and smile-inducing appeal from huddled, sun-beaten throngs at festivals, through to Sunday afternoons lazing in the high-summer glow.

For me it's Pavement's Shady Lane that best epitomises that wistfully romantic, field of daisies, school's out feeling. But Alabama Shakes Hold On slips comfortably into the number two spot.

Alabama Shakes debut album Boys & Girls is out on April 9th on Rough Trade.
