Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's wine to go on sale in British supermarket

Hollywood's favourite couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, have turned their hands to wine making and their new bottle hits British shelves this week.

Marks and Spencer is selling 2014 Miraval Rose, a pale pink rosé, made on the couple's Chateau Miraval estate in France which they bought for £41million in 2012.

The A-listers sought the help of Marc Perrin, a famous Provence winemaker to make the drink. "They (the Jolie-Pitts) want to ensure they are making the best Provence wines they can," Perrin told British wine magazine Decanter.

"They were present at the blending sessions this year, and are relooking at everything from the installations in the winery - where we have already switched to stainless steel tanks - to reworking the labels across the range of wines."

The £18-bottle, which has so far only been available in specialist stores, has received rave reviews from Wine Spectator scoring 90 points - considered outstanding - on the wine specialist's 100-point scale.

It's described as a light and refreshing drink with notes of raspberry, strawberry and wild herbs.

"We’re excited to be launching what could well be the most famous rose in the world," said M&S drinks buyer Emma Dawson. "Not only does Miraval boast A-lister owners, it’s a really lovely crisp rose, perfect for summer drinking."

"This rose is best enjoyed lightly chilled, while young and fresh, and makes an excellent aperitif or matches with many Provencal style dishes such as fish, vegetables and salads," she added.

Marks and Spencer are urging those who want a taste to get in there quick as a limited supply is selling in 17 selected stores across the UK, including White City in London, Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, Newcastle and Bath. Unfortunately, it is currently not available online however the retailer is hoping to secure more stock.

As well as producing their first wine, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie married on the 1,200-acre property in August 2014. The estate boasts pine forests, olive groves, terraced hillsides, working vineyards, a private lake and even a moat.
