Bathe in champagne at new London bar

We all love a glass of champagne but to submerge yourself in a bath of the stuff exceeds even the most extreme Footballer’s Wives-style fantasies.

In an experience that promises to be both decadent and rather sticky, London’s first ever Bellini Bar will offer guests the chance to cover themselves in champers in a roll-top black bath.

The new bar area in the acclaimed supperclub in London's Notting Hill, will open in June. One visitor per night will get to sit in the bath and sip on champagne, surrounded by black marble, large mirrors and bubbles cascading from the ceiling.

"We’ll use enough to fill the bottom of the bath so the person can splash about in it, but it will be nearer 22 than 122 bottles,” a supperclub spokesperson said.

Alongside the bath itself, the bar will serve the classic Peach Bellini and unusual twists on the original recipe including a Chocolate Pear Bellini, a Vodka and Bubble-Gum Prosecco Bellini and a Lime and Elderflower Bellini.

The Bellini has always been a glamorous tipple and was a Hollywood favourite in the 40s. Created in Harry’s Bar, Venice, it was the drink of choice for regulars such as Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles.

What do you think - will you be trying out the champagne bath? Or are you content just to drink it? Let us know on Twitter or in the comments section below
