The best red wines under £10, as recommended by sommeliers

Buying red wine can often feel a little daunting.

Faced with such a huge array of different styles, grapes and countries in the supermarket wine aisle, many of us choose based on budget or stick to our tried-and-tested favourites.

But while we may think splashing out is always the best option if in doubt, there are plenty of impressive, delicious red wines under £10 if you know where to look.

Which is where we come in. We consulted three sommeliers for their expert advice on the best vin rouge to be found for a tenner or less: Emily Harman, sommelier and founder of VinaLupa – a wine consultation company for restaurants and bars; sommelier Sarah Boukhelifa of new London restaurant Roma, in the City; and Devon Pryor, head sommelier at London's Blandford Comptoir.

With such expertise behind you, you can't go wrong. Scroll through our gallery below for 10 red wines under £10.
