British baker creates a Christmas dinner doughnut with turkey salt and gravy

We're firm believers that a Christmas dinner should be relished over the long hours on Christmas day while chatting to family and watching TV.

But a bakery in Essex has defied gastronomic boundaries by capturing an entire festive meal in one doughnut.

The savoury treat, called the 'Ho-Ho-Honut', is made from a sage infused dough which is dusted with turkey salt and a roasted potato crumb and finished with cured maple candied bacon and a cranberry drizzle glaze.

In true doughnut fashion, there's a rich, gooey centre but instead of jam or chocolate it is filled with thick gravy. 

The snack costs £2.25 as is being sold at Godfrey’s bakery in Hornchurch while stocks last.

While we're big fans of a Christmas sandwich, we're not sure we'll be devouring a doughnut version.
