This £10 unicorn cake is what your pastel-hued dreams are made of

Some may say we’ve reached peak unicorn, but others yet think our undying love for the mystical creature knows no bounds.

From unicorn trainers and unicorn toast to unicorn lattes, there isn’t an item this Instagram-worthy trend hasn’t touched over the past 12 months.

Enter: Asda’s glitter-infused, rainbow-coloured sugary showstopper.

Priced at just £10, this is the cake dreams are made of. Baked from a light Madeira sponge and layered with a sticky strawberry jam, it sounds delicious. And to top it all off, it’s coated in a lip-licking vanilla-flavoured white frosting – with pretty mystical iced features in tow.

Asda's Unicorn Cake is just £10

With GBBO currently in full swing and inspiring the nation to once again reach for their electric whisks you could always make your own version, but as this one has been created to provide servings for 18 people it’s a guaranteed party pleaser (not to mention time saver).

And this will come as no surprise to anyone but the internet can’t get enough of it. Looking like it’ll soon sweep past the million-views mark on Facebook, the cake is already an instant hit.

“Mum – I’m sorry, I know I’ll be 36 but I need this cake, please,” one user wrote.

“This cake is great for people on a budget – go Asda!,” another posted.

As part of Asda’s new unicorn range – which includes paper plates, cups, napkins bunting, invitations and gift wrap – you can buy the cake online here.

And if you’re more of a cake-pops-through-the-post kind of person, you probably need to check out this entire range of unicorn bakes available for delivery.

You are welcome.
