Say hello to the gin and tonic Easter egg

G&T egg

Dogs dream in black and white, humans dream in colour, and very special humans dream in gin. And why wouldn’t we? The humble G&T is packed to the brim with health benefits – which makes us feel mighty smug when we pour ourselves a glass of the stuff on a Friday night.

So, when we learned that such a thing as a gin and tonic Easter egg exists, we were incredibly excited.

Chocolate. And gin. We’ll just leave that here for a moment…

It's a thing of beauty

It's a thing of beauty

Lovingly crafted by the folks at Prestat, this definitely isn’t your bog-standard foil covered egg from the local supermarket.

In fact, it boasts a “lemon chocolate shell” – to ensure you get that perfect citrusy twist – and, if you can bring yourself to crack that beautiful egg to pieces, you’re in for a pleasant surprise.

Yup, you guessed it; it’s rammed to the brim with “London gin truffles”.

Be still our beating hearts.

If you’re interested (and, for the love of all that is good and holy, why wouldn’t you be?) then you can get yours at Ocado.com for £16.99.

But, as you’ve probably guessed, demand is incredibly high; if these egg-cellently boozy eggs are anywhere near as popular as last Christmas’ gin baubles, then you’ll have one hell of a fight to get your hands on one.

We’d wish you luck, but… well, we want the G&T eggs all to ourselves. All of them. So we’ll just wish you a very happy Hunger Games.

May the odds be ever in our favour.
