Pink gin has arrived to make our summer 100% better

Lauded American chef Julia Child – who died at the ripe old age of 91 – once credited the secret of her longevity to red meat and gin.

And while the life-prolonging powers of gin remain unproven (for the most part), this time-honoured drink certainly makes our summers go with a swing. Especially when you add berries into the mix.

To the delight of drinkers everywhere, Gordon’s has released a new range of pink gin – just in time for the holidays.

The blush-coloured bottles are available exclusively from Tesco's for £13 and come with infusions of raspberries strawberries and redcurrants.

Needless to say, the masses have reacted with unbridled joy at news of this twist on our go-to tipple of the moment.

It’s just further proof that our appetite for gin shows no sign of abating any time soon.

Although white port and tonic is said to be on the rise as a kickback to our gin-loving ways, those who are partial to the juniper drink can continue to get their fix on a gin and sushi bus tour, via gin-soaked ice cream or even by means of a brunch-time gin yogurt

To enjoy the newly-released pink gin, the folks over at Gordon’s suggest serving up a Pink Spritz – based on an original 1880 recipe.

Mix two parts Gordon's Pink with two parts lemonade and one part prosecco, before serving in a large wine glass filled with ice. Garnish with fresh strawberries and raspberries.

As you can see, the Instagram hordes are already very much on-board with this idea… cheers!
