Forget avocado toast. The latest cult breakfast trend satiating the appetites of food lovers is a smoothie bowl.

You might be wondering, 'Why not just drink it from a glass?' But oh no, the smoothie bowl is so much more than a quick chug while running out the door. 

It's the perfect combination of a crunchy toppings and creamy liquid, much like a dessert sundae. It sounds indulgent, but these breakfast bowls are exceptionally healthy. Lifestyle bloggers use raw cacao in place of chocolate, granola instead of cake bits and a mix of seeds to complement nuts. 

And not only does it taste good, but it also looks good. The breakfast item is currently taking Instagram by storm with over 200,000 of the bright, colourful and moreish bowls posted in recent weeks. Each one is meticulously decorated, where toppings are used to make psychedelic patterns, stripes and other designs.
