The jelly bean wine pairing guide you didn't know you needed

There’s a perfect wine to compliment everything; juicy roast beef, flavoursome seafood, sizzling herby lamb, creamy baked camembert. But now, in a win for all those with an insatiable sweet tooth, there’s an official charting outlining the best wine and jelly bean pairings.

That’s right, wine and jelly beans are the new peas and carrots, and San Francisco-based Gimbal's Fine Candies has produced a fool-proof guide to help us all match our favourite flavours with the right bottle.

After all, you wouldn’t want to pair a plummy merlot with a tutti fruitti, now would you?

From a riesling, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc, right through to pinot noir, cabernet and Champagne, the chart details which wine is best suited to bringing out all the flavour of your favourite jelly bean.

Whether you're hooked on the honey ones, can't enough lemon and lime, or have developed a taste for the buttered popcorn jelly bean (genius), this is the key to taking your sugar fix to the next level.

The chart comes as America celebrates National Candy Month through June, which we’re quite sure would go down a storm here in the UK.

So, what does the chart have in the way of winning combinations? Here’s the wine pairing guide you’ve been missing your whole life…

A glass of chilled Champagne paired with a bowl of Ice Cream Cake flavoured jelly beans sounds like a great idea to us - somebody pop that cork stat.
