This restaurant is launching a Marmite menu across the UK – including a Marmite cocktail

Given you’re reading this, you’re probably in the ‘love it’ camp when it comes to Marmite.

If so, your Marmite-laden dreams have come true as a real-life restaurant has recognised the glory of this dark yeast-based spread and incorporated it into its menu UK-wide – including a Marmite cocktail.

(If not, stop reading now as your irrational and frankly unbelievable dislike is not welcome here.)

Bill’s Restaurant has teamed up with Marmite on a limited-edition menu for January, accessible to those who utter the password ‘spread the love’.

Customers can then dig into The Marmite Rarebit: a mix of Marmite, crème fraiche, egg, English mustard and mature cheddar served on a toasted bloomer with two poached eggs and fresh parsley.

If that’s not quite enough Marmite for you, the Marmite Mary cocktail should see you right – made with Chivas Regal 12 year-old, tomato juice, cream, lemon and a special Marmite reduction, served with a stick of celery and slice of lemon. To us, that sounds like an umami-fest of deliciousness, but we can see how others might be put off (we can’t).

There’s also a virgin version of the cocktail and simple Marmite on toast available.

It’s on from 9 January until the end of the month at Bill’s branches in Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol, Birmingham and London, and while it’s a breakfast/brunch kind of menu, it’s available all day from 8am.

We’re told all customers who order from the menu will also be one of the first to get their hands on an 8g Mini-Mite pot, launching later in the year.

We’re not biased or anything, but Marmite FTW. Sorry not sorry.
