Melt Room, London’s first gourmet grilled cheese café to open soon

grilled-cheese.jpg

Imagine thick gooey cheese oozing out of two perfectly crisp slices of bread. If this is your idea of heaven (it's certainly ours), then read on...

A new restaurant in London could soon be the ultimate destination for cheese lovers, serving grilled cheeses all day.

Melt Room, which will open in Soho in May, will cook up cheese toasties in many varieties for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Some of the elaborate fillings on offer include a slow and low lamb shoulder with melted Swiss cheese and rare roast beef with Sparkenhoe and Red Leicester.

For breakfast, diners can expect a Full English grilled cheese sandwich and a "benedict melt" with a cheddar-spiked hollandaise sauce.

The company promise to play cheesy music to match the food and offer a delivery service to locals.

Melt Room founder and ultimate grilled cheese enthusiast Andrey Datsenko said, "I’m very excited to launch Melt Room – not only to fix my own grilled cheese cravings, but to offer Londoners a gourmet American-inspired version of this much-loved snack."

Londoners might be experiencing themed-cafe fatigue with the recent openings of the porridge cafe, the micropig pop-up 'pignic'and Serial Killer which sells nothing but cereal all day long. But this might just be the best comfort food spot yet.

Melt Room opens in May at 26 Noel Street, Soho, London W1F 8GY.
