The mobile bar that delivers gin straight to your door

With the nation still firmly in the grip of gin-mania, it seems like hardly a week can go by without another novelty juniper-based product/mode of transport popping up. We’ve had mermaid gin, gin yoghurt, the sushi and gin bus tour, a gin train – and now, it’s time to say hello to the mobile gin bar of your dreams.

This gin van, known as The Wanderer, has a bar fully stocked with a range of fancy spirits, including Tanqueray and Plymouth Gin. And it can be hired to roll up to your next big event – along with cheery staff to serve your gin-guzzling guests all night.

Of course, this isn’t the first gin van to roam the streets and fields of the UK: The Little Gin Company, Mama Gin and Jim and Tonic are among those also offering on-the-move booze vans. But The Wanderer is the latest version to catch our eye.

The van was a Citroen HY before being converted into a mobile bar, and also comes with a variety of non-gin booze if your guests haven’t yet been converted to the G&Ts. Think craft ales, wine and cocktails.

The Wanderer in all its glory.

“We get inundated with requests asking if we can provide our cocktails and drinks for their private celebrations,” says Nick Whitby of The New World Trading Company, the gastropub chain behind the on-demand party bar.

“The Wanderer is perfect for this,” he tells metro.co.uk. “The vehicle has been adapted to house a sleek bar but it also promises to deliver our highest standard of award-winning cocktails and drinks no matter where the celebration is, up and down the country.”

Of course, this isn’t the first gin van to roam the streets and fields of the UK: The Little Gin Company, Mama Gin and Jim and Tonic are among those also offering on-the-move booze vans. But another vehicle packed with quality mother's ruin (and the mixologists to do it justice) is never a bad thing in our eyes.

However, if you’re considering hiring The Wanderer for your next big do, the price might give you pause for thought. The minimum hire for a fully stocked bar is £1,500, plus £500 for the bar team, ice and glassware – meaning that you’ll probably want to save it for a very special occasion (or if you win the lottery).

But if your birthday party budget doesn’t quite stretch to hiring a mobile gin bar, fear not. Simply read our round-up of the internet’s best gin cocktail recipes, and your guests can delight in delicious drinks made by your own fair hand.
