The sun is shining, the days are getting longer, and the temperatures are (ever so slightly) climbing – which can only mean one thing.

Yup, it’s ice cream season. And Oreo have come up trumps with a delicious new frozen treat: the peanut butter ice cream sandwich.

As in, yes, an Oreo cookie which has been filled with smooth peanut butter ice cream, biscuit crumbs, and just a whip of that iconic fondant, too.

Be still our beating hearts.

Oreo peanut butter ice cream sandwich was bloody yum!! 6 syns each & so worth it!

The original biscuit-form of Oreo Peanut Butter launched in 2015 and has quickly proven to be a fan favourite – with the likes of Dairy Milk getting in on the action and whipping up a chocolate bar filled with the stuff. So, in all honesty, it should come as no surprise that it's being turned into an ice cream.

However, when it comes to all things Oreo, the people of the UK are usually left in the cold: how many times have we seen delicious new concoctions being rolled out all over the United States, without so much as a crumb being flicked in our direction?

Thank goodness, then, that the Oreo gods have taken pity on us this time.

That’s right: the peanut butter flavoured Oreo ice cream sandwiches are already on sale all over the UK – you can bag six of them for £3 at Sainsbury’s – and reviews are incredibly, incredibly favourable.

We’ll race you to the frozen aisle…
