Behold the most delicious and unique sandwiches from around the world

As if we needed another excuse to go and make ourselves a sandwich, an extremely detailed infographic has arisen on the internet with intricate instructions on how to make every sandwich ever invented – nearly 90 of them, to be precise.

With drawings of sandwiches from locations as varied as Taiwan, Cuba, Japan and Mexico, some of the snacks included on the all-encompassing infographic include a pulled pork sandwich, a soft shell crab roll and a chip butty (our personal favourite).

The chart, from the folks over at Pop Chart Lab, deconstructs each sandwich sorted by its primary ingredient, whether pork, beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, seafood or vegetarian. Despite being cartoons, the images succeed in making us very hungry indeed. 

Some killer creations featured on the illustration include the Choripan, which hails from Argentina and is a simple recipe consisting of a burger bun, one grilled chorizo and some spicy chimichurri sauce, and the hearty-sounding Gatsby from South Africa, which mixes chips, meat and sauce all in a delicious bun.

We also love the look of the Japanese Katsu, which puts together breaded pork, shredded cabbage and white bread to create a mouthwatering treat.

There are even helpful notations to indicate the origin of each sandwich, and how to make them best, whether grilled, melted or with a dip on the side.

And no matter how much of a sandwich fiend you are, there are bound to be some offerings you haven’t tried yet, whether the Chacarero, which hails from Chile, the Fluffernutter, from the US, or the delicious-looking Bahn Mi from Vietnam.

This list could change our packed lunches forever…
