We already know there are at least five reasons why drinking gin is good for us, but what if we told you there was a brand new version of our favourite tipple that promised to give you good luck?

Ladies and gentleman, we give to you: mythical gin.

Developed by the award-winning team at Raisthorpe Manor Fine Food, the gin is made using water from ancient "Gypsey streams" that run beneath the Yorkshire Wolds and have long been considered to bestow good luck on those who drink from it.

Distilled in a traditional gin-making method, this magical water is infused with fresh botanicals and watercress thought to have been farmed around the Gypsey Race 100 years ago to create the lucky gin.

And if you needed any convincing of the river's magical powers, the Race is historically regarded as providing life-saving shelter to Queen Henrietta Maria as she dodged flying cannon balls during the English Civil War in 1632.

For those who are tempted to try their luck, the gin will soon be available to buy online from raisthorpemanor.com.

You'll be able to try the standard Distilled Dry Gin, or opt for the Raisthorpe Oak-Aged Dry Gin that has been rested in whisky barrels to give a taste of vanilla and spice.
