Unicorn frappuccinos are a real thing, and people are going wild for them

We might have had macarons, toast and lattes themed around the mystical creatures already, but if you thought the unicorn food trend had reached peak, think again. Unicorn frappuccinos have landed and whipped the internet into a frenzy.

The mango and sour flavoured drink launched in Starbucks across the US, Mexico and Canada today and will be served for a limited period only until 23 April.

While it wasn’t set to be unveiled until today, eager baristas had been sharing their photos of the beverage throughout the week and raving about the colour changing properties.

Blended creme with mango syrup and topped with vanilla whipped cream with a sprinkle of Sweet Pink and Sour Blue powder topping, the blue and pink shades of the drink changed to purple when they’re swirled and the flavour evolves from sweet and fruity to tangy and tart, according to the Starbucks press release.

Fans of all things unicorn related are already raving about the drink on Twitter.



Sadly, no plans have been made to bring the drink of our fantasies to the UK, but here’s hoping that its success across the pond could convince the coffee chain.
