Rihanna just DM'd a heartbroken fan some truly brilliant relationship advice

Musician, humanitarian, actress, model, businesswoman – Rihanna has taken on many guises in her 29 years.

And now she can add Agony Aunt to her list of specialisms after taking time out to give a heartbroken fan some truly excellent advice.

Twitter user @WaladShami shared a private message he received from the pop star after he got in touch with her during a particularly tough time in his personal life.

Speaking to BuzzFeed he said ‘It was my first relationship ever and they ended it with me in January, but it's been really hard for a multitude of reasons’. Having contacted Rihanna before, he reached out in the hope that she would offer some comfort.

And, Rihanna being Rihanna, comfort she did.

In the private message, which has now been posted to Twitter and retweeted over 5,000 times, Rihanna dishes out some of the most empowering and understanding advice we’ve seen on how to embrace - and then move on - from heartbreak.

Her message is neither condescending nor attempts to trivialise the very real pain of a split. And, considering Rihanna is a woman who has been candid and outspoken about her own relationship struggles, we’d expect no less.

‘Just believe that the heartbreak was a gift in itself! Cry if you have to, but it won’t be forever! You will find love again, and it will be even more beautiful! In the meantime enjoy all that YOU are!!!!’

Rihanna often takes time out to comfort and advise fans

This isn’t the first time that Rihanna has gone out of her way to offer reassurance and guidance to one of her many fans. Last year another Twitter user shared the tender and encouraging words that the star shared with him when he privately revealed his fears of coming out.

We only hope anyone going through heartbreak of their own finds some comfort in her encouragement to embrace the pain and have faith that something better will be waiting down the road.
