Scout Willis stages semi-nude protest over Instagram's nipple ban

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' daughter Scout has walked topless through the streets of New York in a protest over Instagram's rules on nudity.

The 22-year-old tweeted images of herself walking and shopping in Manhattan wearing only a skirt and shoes to highlight Instagram's policy of removing shots that show women's nipples.

"Legal in NYC but not on Instagram," she posted. Another caption read: "What @Instagram won't let you see #FreeTheNipple"

Instagram's guidelines read: "If you wouldn’t show the photo or video you are thinking about uploading to a child, or your boss, or your parents, you probably shouldn’t share it on Instagram.

“The same rule applies to your profile photo. Accounts found sharing nudity or mature content will be disabled and your access to Instagram may be discontinued."

However, as countless tweets by Willis pointed out, the site apparently allows a variety of inappropriate images to stay up.

Her protest was sparked by one of her images being removed by the picture-led social networking site. It showed a jumper displaying an image of two topless women.

"My comfort with my body should not be dictated by how others perceive me," she tweeted. "However, I don't wish to force this view on anyone. If you don't like what you see, simply unfollow me."
