Sunday nights are all about girl power thanks to this innovative event

Here at stylist.co.uk, few things come higher on our list of priorities than friendship.

We count ourselves lucky to be surrounded by women we consider to be some of the most wonderful around, so obviously we love to celebrate them at every opportunity.

But despite the good times that inevitably ensue when we get together, our hectic schedules sometimes hold us back from making time for each other - especially when partners/jobs/bank accounts get in the way.

That’s why we love the sound of a new series of events that will see friendship groups take ownership of Sunday nights, for an evening of street food, cocktails, open air film, and incredible views of London’s skyline.

So what’s the twist? In this magical land of friendship fun, all partners are banned – and tickets are completely free.

And you don’t have to wait long, as the series of events will be coming to south side’s coolest spot, Peckham, next week.

Roof Top Film Club, known for throwing hip and happening events all across the Capital, are kicking off the series on Sunday 6 August at their Bussey Building haunt.

Hosted by dating app Badoo, #NoDateNight is encouraging pals to get together and enjoy the good times, as they put it: “Sunday night is no longer the sh*ttest night to be single.”

Throughout the evening you can tuck into various snacks from street food vendors, be sippin’ on cocktails with your free drinks tokens and enjoy rom-com classic, Hitch.

Tickets for the event can be won by entering a random allocator here and, if chosen, you’ll be given a plus one – so keep your best friend on stand-by.

And when we say best friend, we mean it – event organisers have made it clear this is a date free zone. to ensure couples don’t steal the show.

There’s 198 tickets to be distributed so act fast to get your mitts on some, and if you’re not successful this time there will be another event happening on the 3rd of September that sounds equally as supportive of #girlpower.
