This socially awkward dog is all of us at a party we don't like

Beya.png

You know how it is: you had FOMO, so you went along to the party that all your friends were talking about – even though you knew it wasn't your kind of thing.

And now here you are, stuck in a pool with a load of hyperactive idiots who won't stop splashing water at you.

Yep, we totally feel for the dog in the video that's currently sweeping Facebook – it was posted on June 9 and has already attracted almost 15 million views and well over 250,000 shares.

The star of the video is Beya, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever who attends the Happy Tails Resort doggy day care in Virginia, USA.

Surrounded by her fellow four-legged friends, Beya appears distinctly uncomfortable; like anyone who finds themselves in the midst of a celebration they're just not feeling.

While the other doggies splash and excitedly chase the ball, she stays rooted to the spot, appearing for all the world like she wishes she was somewhere else entirely.

However those who may worry for Beya's feelings, fret not.

According to the canine day care's owners - and despite what the situation looks like - Beya is actually quite happy chilling out in the middle of the pool while the other dogs swim around her.

She appears in other videos too, often labelled as the ‘non swimming dog’. The secret behind the video is that she's usually hoping someone will throw a treat or ball from the side of the pool.

Speaking to TODAY, Happy Tails receptionist Kayla Jones said: "She'll hang out all day if we let her. She will swim around, do some laps, but her comfort zone is where she's just hanging out. Every so often she might kick a paw out."

You do you, Beya...
