Top of the list for trivial-but-amazing-things-we-never-knew-we-needed-before this Friday morning are these incredible cake-scented purses.

The brainchild of cool gifts and gadgets brand Firefox, the nifty little coin holders come shaped as deliciously life-like macarons, doughnuts and waffles.

If that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, they can also be customised with a choice of three different smells - strawberry, chocolate and original - "because you deserve batter".

"Imagine a sort-of sugary, bakery ambiance that has somehow been encapsulated into one single glorious odour," reads the sell on Firebox's website. "It's immense."

The patisserie-themed purses are apparently very roomy, with enough space to fit all the coins/hairpins/lip balms and other random life necessities a woman might want.

The manufacturers do warn that the cake scent "may start to wear off after a bit of knocking around your bag".

But it does last long enough to get your taste buds tingling every time you reach for some spare change. Just don't try chomping into it...

Prices start from £8.99 - see more here or check out the pictures below.
