Meet Blitzen, the high-jumping rescue dog who leaves all others in the shadows with his athletic, sky-high leaps.

With talent and prowess enough to match any Olympic champion, Blitzen is able to reach heights of up to six feet with his ecstatic mid-air manoeuvres.

These images (above and below) were taken during a visit to Loch Morlich near Aviemore in Scotland. Blitzen astounded onlookers as he leapt and twisted in the air, attempting to catch water splashed for him by owner Stacy Clark, her children and their friends.

Stacy adopted four-year-old Blitzen after the homeless man he lived with previously became unable to look after him. She insists the capering canine has had no prior training and merely jumps for the love of it.
